Privacy Policy

The short version

• You can use the paint calculator and every guide without creating an account or telling us who you are.
• The numbers you type into the calculator are stored only in your own browser (local storage), not on our servers.
• We do not sell your personal data, ever.
• We use privacy-friendly analytics that tell us aggregate traffic counts without identifying you as an individual.
• If you email us, we keep your message for as long as needed to reply and improve the site.

1. Who we are

HeavenHome ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at https://heavenhome.site and the tools and guides available on it. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@heavenhome.site.

2. Information you give us directly

The only time you give us information is if you choose to contact us. When you submit the contact form or send an email, we receive your name, your email address, the subject and topic you selected, and the message you typed. We use this information solely to read and reply to your message and, where relevant, to improve the calculator or guides you wrote about.

If you subscribe to the newsletter via the footer form, we receive only your email address. We use it to send occasional updates about new calculators and guides. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and removing yourself from the list takes effect immediately.

3. Information the calculator collects

The paint calculator does not send your inputs to us. Room dimensions, paint selections, cost fields and your saved calculation history are all stored locally in your browser using the Web Storage API (localStorage). This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to our servers, and is removed when you clear your browser data or use private browsing. The "Share link" feature encodes your inputs into the page URL itself (in the address bar) — if you copy that link and send it to someone, you are choosing to share those numbers with them, not with us.

4. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs needed to operate the site and protect it from abuse. These typically include the date and time of a request, the URL requested, the referring page, your approximate region (derived from IP address at country level), the browser type and an anonymised device identifier. We use these logs only for security, troubleshooting and aggregate statistics such as "how many people visited the paint calculator this month".

If we run privacy-friendly analytics, we configure it to anonymise IP addresses, respect "Do Not Track" signals, and avoid cross-site tracking. We do not use advertising trackers and we do not build individual profiles of visitors.

5. Cookies

HeavenHome itself does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The only storage we use is the local storage described above for your calculator inputs and history, which is not a cookie and is not sent to our server with each request. If we add an analytics tool in future that uses cookies, we will list it here and ensure it complies with applicable consent requirements.

6. How long we keep data

Server logs are retained for a limited period needed for security and analytics, typically up to 90 days, and then automatically deleted. Messages you send us through the contact form or email are kept for as long as is reasonably needed to resolve your enquiry and to maintain a record of improvements made in response. Newsletter email addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live — in particular if you are in the UK, the EU/EEA, California, or another jurisdiction with data-protection law — you may have the right to:

• request access to the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten");
• object to or restrict certain processing;
• receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and
• withdraw consent to processing you previously agreed to (for example, unsubscribe from the newsletter).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@heavenhome.site with enough detail to identify you. We respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, usually within 30 days.

8. Children

HeavenHome is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Third-party links and services

Our guides and pages may link to external websites — paint manufacturers, retailers, reference sources — that we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own and we encourage you to read their policies. We do not share your personal data with these third parties.

10. International transfers

Our hosting may process data in countries other than your own. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism recognised under applicable data-protection law.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, note them on the page itself. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
